The Streamline Hotel is the birthplace of NASCAR—it’s just too bad the historical property itself got stuck in the past. So we helped launch the new Streamline Hotel. We created a showroom, a model for the owners to build the rest of the rooms off of and designed the lobby and restaurant space for them. This was a big deal for me, to create a lobby and set the mood for what the guest will experience within those doors was an honor. I wanted the lobby to have a 40’s vibe—very graphic, almost film noir. I wanted there to be a nod to the history of racing without it being shoved down your throat. The lobby and restaurant are just virtual renderings of what I designed, but once Viscomi Construction completes the project and my design, I will definitely share more images.
